The Goal of the Way of the Universe
The goal and purpose of the Way of the Universe is to provide a new philosophy for humanity’s hardest century, helping people align their choices with today's reality, science, evolution, ecological limits, and the long-term common good. Humanity has evolved over 50 unique major philosophies over the past 5,000 years. Each of these new philosophies was a response to previous philosophies that had not adequately resolved new problems that had arisen in that society and had not existed before.
Today's society is facing a polycrisis of local, regional, and national problems that did not exist at the time previous major philosophies were developed.
The Way of the Universe is the new philosophy created specifically to address the polycrisis and today's biggest problems. It is a practical, science-grounded philosophy for living well in a messy century and a growing more dysfunctional society.
Yes we know that you already have a philosophy. The only question is whether you chose it, or you inherited it by accident from a culture, algorithms, and whatever chaos is trending this week, or if it has proved adequate to help resolve new problems that never existed in any previous society.
The Way of the Universe is a reality and science-based, rational philosophy built to be practiced. It turns the Universe's and evolution's time-proven “what works” deepest patterns into practical guidance for individuals, families, and communities.
The goal of the Way of the Universe is to offer a secular, science-grounded new philosophy and practice framework that helps people live well and meaningfully, act ethically, and make wiser choices about how to live in and fix the polycrisis in a destabilizing century.

A Practical philosophy: We teach modern rational thinking tools and the Universe Principles, which are reality and science-aligned principles of Right Action (what to do) and Right Attitude (how to do it).
What this isn’t
Not religion. Not spirituality. Not “manifestation.” Not “vibes over evidence.” If science says no, we accept the no.
What “Right” means
“Right” = reality and science-aligned, rational, and evidence-informed, not morally superior. Think: better map, fewer personal, local, regional, and national faceplants.

The current macro-culture can be unstable and noisy. Many individuals would agree that today's macro-culture is quite unstable and dysfunctional. The practical move is to practice the Universe Principles yourself, then share them with your family, team, or community to build a healthier local “micro-culture” with better norms and stronger cooperation.

Physical (Expansion and Evolution): Scientifically, the universe has been expanding since the Big Bang, stretching light and creating a dynamic, evolving environment. This process includes the constant creation and destruction of stars and matter.
The Connected "Story": The universe is a dynamic, developing common story or journey that includes the formation of galaxies, solar systems, and all life including you.
Human Connection: As Carl Sagan stated, we are part of this process: "The cosmos is within us. We are made of star stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself."
Life-Sustaining Patterns: Principles of organization, connection, and evolution that seem to allow for life.
Constant Transformation: Everything is part of a continuous process of growth and decay, where change is the only constant.
Harmony and Balance: The interaction of forces, such as gravity and expansion, or yin and yang (plus/minus, north/south).
Important boundary: This website is philosophy and applied rationality. We keep the metaphysics, the search for answers to life's existential questions, and the practices of healthy personal spirituality on a separate website, Universe Spirit, on purpose. No metaphysical claims required. No belief “tests.” No incense subscription is required to practice the principles of the Way of the Universe.
